Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Swedish youth international, Alice Bergström, from BK Häcken.

The 22-year-old versatile right-sided player becomes the first player to join Gareth Taylor’s squad this transfer window.

The Reds’ new 25 has previously represented Tyresö FF, Älvsjö AIK, Djugården and BK Häcken, where she has accumulated a career total of 155 appearances in seven years.

Ahead of joining Häcken, the 22-year-old started every game for Djugården in 2023, just a year after joining the club.

During that season, Bergström went on to score the winning goal and her first Damallsvenskan goal against her future team, BK Häcken.

The following season, in December 2023, Bergström announced that she had signed a three-year contract with Häcken and eventually made her debut in the club’s UEFA Women’s Champions League, Quarter-Final, match against PSG.

In her final full season with Häcken, Bergström was part of the team who helped Häcken place first in the league and win the Damallsvenskan title for the second time ever in club history.

Despite Bergström’s versatility being tested during this season, as she began playing at right-back on occasion, Bergström played 25 of their 26 matches in which she scored three goals and provided eight assists.

The following season, in 2023, Nildén registered an impressive 23 goals in 25 games in the Swedish second division, the Elitettan, which helped AIK win a league title and promotion back to the top tier.

Her success doesn’t only remain at club level but at international too, where she has represented Sweden both at Under-19 and Under-23 level.

More recently, Bergström gained her first senior call-up, alongside new teammate Beata Olsson, in November 2025 for Sweden’s UEFA Women’s Nations League third-placed match.

On her move to Liverpool, Bergström stated: “I’m really excited. I’ve been waiting a long time so it’s nice to be here.

“I’m really excited to get started and it’s going to be a good year.”

Bergström will become a key asset to Liverpool as they seek to gain their first league win of the season, providing an extensive amount of experience across different leagues and competitions for a young player.
