Player Profile: Maya Le Tissier

At just 22 years old, Maya Le Tissier is Manchester United’s captain and an England International.  

 

Le Tissier was born on 18th April 2002 in Gurnsey.  

 

Club Career:  

 

The young star previously played for St martins A.C boys before making the move to Brighton and Hove Albion.  

 

She progressed onto playing for Brighton and Hove Albion at senior level just four months after joining the club.  

 

Having gained 58 appearances and two goals Le Tissier departed the club in July 2022 for a new start at Manchester United.  

 

During her short time at the club Le Tissier has won the FA Cup, placed both second and fifth in the league and be named Manchester United’s Captain.  

 

This all goes to show the key role she plays in the United squad.  

 

Le Tissier played every minute of all WSL games in both the 22/23 and 23/24 season which is an incredible achievement for such a young player.  

 

Alongside this, Le Tissier recently became the youngest player to make 100 WSL starts.  

 

So far this season Le Tissier has scored one goal for Manchester United however has lead her team to three victories and one draw.  

 

International Career: 

 

Le Tissier started off by playing for Gurnsey u16 men however was shortly after called up to join the u16 lionesses.  

 

Since then, she has progressed through the youth squads and has been called up to many recent England camps.  

 

Le Tissier was called up as a reserve for the 2023 Women’s World Cup however was not needed.
