Crystal Palace Women gained promotion off the back of the 23/24 Women’s Championship Campaign. The Eagles finished on 46 points with an astonishing Goal Difference of 35. Some of the highlights of Crystal Palace’s 23/24 season, was the outstanding 5-1 win over Durham and 4-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.

What can we expect from Crystal Palace during their first Women’s Super League campaign?

Last Season, we saw Crystal Palace bring in a young squad, with the likes of Abbie Larkin, Izzy Atkinson, Lexi Potter being brought in to push on for promotion.

We saw Crystal Palace’s top goal scorer, Elise Hughes score 16 goals of the 55 goals scored in the 21 matches which they played.

Following on, The Eagles conceded just 20 goals in the whole Women’s Championship Campaign.

From those incredible statistics, we can see real hope for Crystal Palace in their first Women’s Super League Campaign.

Despite all this the stakes are high for their first time feature in the WSL but from what we saw last season in the Women’s Championship, Crystal Palace will be the team to look out for.

Crystal Palace have brought in new players to build strength in their squad, but who are they?

A standout player that Crystal Palace have brought in, is Josie Green; a talented midfielder to add depth into their squad.

Green transferred to Crystal Palace from Leicester City, where she was a regular starter for the foxes during the previous WSL season.

Another standout player to add to their squad was, Katrine Veje, who transferred from Everton; Not only does she have experience in the WSL but also at international level where she has represented Denmark.

The Danish Defender is ready to put her body on the line in any duel or set-piece, this will add incredible stability to the back line.

Crystal Palace have also added some loanees to their squad.

Lexi Potter is joining The Eagles again this season on loan from Chelsea, who have now won the WSL for the fifth consecutive time in a row.

The midfielder has added pace and consistency into both the England u19s and Crystal Palace squad last season, and she will continue to do the same whilst playing her first full season in the Women’s Super League.

Another loanee is Poppy Pritchard, as well as Lexi Potter, she has also represented her country during the Under-19s Women’s European Championships.

Poppy Pritchard has joined The Eagles on loan from Manchester City where she transferred during the 2024 January transfer window.

Pritchard is an energetic, and quick paced forward.

Where can I go and watch Crystal Palace play their home games during the 24/25 WSL season?

Crystal Palace is playing a total of 3 games at Selhurst Park during their first WSL campaign.

We will see Crystal Palace play Chelsea Women’s Football Club on Matchday 2 of the Women’s Super League on Friday 27th of September 2024.

Another time Crystal Palace play at Selhurst Park will be against Manchester City on Matchday 7 of the WSL on Sunday 3rd of October 2024.

The final time Crystal Palace will play at Selhurst Park, will be against Arsenal Women’s Football Club on Matchday 21 on Sunday 30th of March 2025.

Apart from the home games being played at Selhurst Park, the other home games will be played at the VBS Community Stadium.

Crystal Palace’s opening game in the WSL against Tottenham Hotspurs can be streamed on the new WSL YouTube channel on Sunday 22nd September at 16:00.
