Match Preview: Tottenham Vs Crystal Palace

Tottenham are set to take on new league arrivals Crystal palace on Sunday afternoon. Will Crystal Palace take the win for their first Women’s super league match? 


Crystal Palace will take on Tottenham as for both clubs first game of the season at 2pm on Sunday Afternoon, both clubs are eager for the upcoming season and have high aspirations for what's to come. 


This match will mark Crystal Palace’s introduction to the WSL after being newly promoted from the Championship.

Vilahamn the Spurs coach has admitted that the club ‘want to improve this season’ despite him leading the club to their highest ever finish of 6th place just four points behind Manchester United. 


The Spurs team also reached the FA Cup final and despite the achievement of getting there, they suffered a 5-0 defeat to Manchester United.  


 Tottenham even went on to place second in the FA cup final as they played Manchester United at Wembley, Tottenham are hoping to achieve more this season. 


Ahead of facing the newly promoted team Vilahamn explained that Crystal Palace are ‘an interesting team with a good coach’

Crystal palace may be set to surprise clubs this season despite their first season on the WSL as they scored a whopping 55 goals in 22 games in the Womens championship last season. 


Kaminski, Crystal Palace’s head coach is aware of the quality the club will face this season she said "We've got to be resilient in terms of dealing with those challenges." 


Ahead of Sunday facing Spurs Kaminski said that ‘Tottenham have come on leaps and bounds in the last few seasons’ 

 


On Sunday, both clubs will have the potential to show their talent for the season ahead as Palace are welcomed to Spurs’ home Brisbane Road at 2pm. 


Both clubs are also set too face each other in December for a league cup game as they have both been drawn into the same group. 

 

Team News:


Shuang Wang, Ella Morris and Amy James-Turner are all unavailable for Tottenham ahead of their season opener. 


This also will include Kit Graham as she announced she will be out for the season after suffering an ACL injury. 


Crystal Palace currently have two players injured for the upcoming game as Hayley Nolan has had an anterior dislocation of her shoulder, and Elise Hughes will continue her rehab following a previous ACL injury. 


Sunday’s match is expected to take place at 2pm (BST) on Sunday the 22nd of September and can be watched via the WSL YouTube channel.
